What does Christmas mean to me

Christmas for me is a really special occasion, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. And all the kids that believe in santa claus, they write like a letter to him, in that letter they write in there the different presents they want, the ones they like. Every year, i spend christmas with all my family, sometimes my moms family side, and other times with my dads family side. This year we are spending christmas at my dads family house, in Los Angeles, going for christmas to california is really cool, i really like to spend a lot of time with my family. We go to the malls and buy a lot of stuff, is really fun. And also when we spend christmas with my moms family, we go to Guatemala, and there also i spend a lot of time with my family. Also when im in Guatemala i can go and visit my friends. I really  like Christmas, becasue is a time that we can be happy, and most important spend time with your family.

Movie Review

 JACKASS 3D


Jackass is a movie directed by Jeff Tremaine, is the third movie, first they started as a t.v show at Mtv. They became famous really fast. So they decided to make movies. They are really famous all over the world. They return for the third installment of their TV show spin-off, where dangerous stunts and explicit public displays rule. Jonnhy knoxville is one of the most famous actors of the movie. Also Bam Margera and Steve-O. The movie and t.v shows are about, all of them making stupid stunts. They make a lot of crazy things. Is a really funny movie, and is the first time they make a movie in 3D. Is going to be a really cool movie.

Ancient Rome

ROME.
By around 200, 000 years ago, there were a few people living in Italy.

More Homo Erectus people, Neanderthals, lived near Rome around 100,000 years ago. There was a big change about 5000 BC when Neolithic  people arrived in Italy.

By 3500 BC, the neolithic people had gradually spread into northern italy. Some of them settle near Rome.

By 3000 BC, they began trading for small pieces of metal.
Philosophy.-
-Roman society didnt begin studiyng until about 200 BC.
One of the first romans who start writing philosophy was Lucretius. He followed greek epicurean philosophy, he made a long poem called On the nature of things, that explains epicurean philosophy.
Another important philosopher was Cicero, he was mostly a skeptic pjilosopher.
Economy
-Ancient rome had a vast area of land, with a lot of human and natural resources. Romes economy remained focused on farming and trade. By the 1st century BC vast grape and olive estates had supplanted the farmers.
One movie that has the history of Rome, was Gladiator. That movie tells us how was the culture of ancient rome. Tells us the sotry of Maximus, the way he lead his man to defeat the Germanic barbarians, ending in a long war.

Some stories or movies  of Ancient Rome:

          -The Story Keepers: is an animated series that takes place in ancient rome, at 64 AD
                                         It was produced by Shepherd Films Ltd.

          -   Coriolanus: Hero without a Country: is a historical drama film set in rome in 493 BC. Is an adaptation of the roman legend about the victories of rome over their enemies the volscians.
                                 The film was directed by Giorgio Ferroni.

         -Gladiator: is a historical epic movie. Maximus is betrayed by Commodus, and Maximus rises through the rank of the gladiatoral arena to revenge the murder of his family and his emperor.
                                 The film was directed by Ridley Scott.

          -300 : is an action film adapted from a graphic novel, also named 300 by  Frank Miller. A fictionalized retelling of the battle of Thermopylae.


- The relationship that this movies and stories have with ancient rome is the way they show us how ancient rome was. like for example all the battles, or the way of living. Also the most important characters of ancient rome. They show us also the development and different stages that they went through.

My Happiest Moment so Far

I dont really have a number one happiest moment, because there are a lot of happy moments. But if i had to choose one, it probably be all the times that ive been with my family in california. I go to California almost one time each year. the last time i went was on summer of the last year. I had a really good time. We went to a lot of malls to shop, also every nigth me, my brothers and my cousins went out to just hang out.
My dad is a huge baseball fan, because he played baseball when he was like my age. Our favorite team is the Los Angeles Dodgers, we went to two baseball games, Angels vs Dodgers at Anaheim, and Dodgers vs Marlins at dodger stadium. Also we went to Six Flags, it was really good. And one day after Michael Jackson died we went to hollywood and watch all the people crying, and all the flowers around his star. But it was a really good trip.

LIA Marathon

The LIA Marathon was really amazing, it was good, a lot of people run, including different schools. I dont really know in what place Lincoln won. I think second place. Also at the end, something that i didnt really thougth that will happen was that the teachers run too. First the female round, the winner was the algebra teacher Beatriz, In second place was the english teacher, Ms. hoekstra. And a funny event was that the p.e teacher fall on the way to the finish line, she was on second place, but she ended third. Then the male round, the only teacher that i remember running was mr. Enrique Gastreazoro, he ended in second place....
